Building on foundations for growth in Coventry
With any business, having a clear direction of where you want to take it is vital in order to make it a success.
That’s precisely what we’ve done at Cranfield Business Recovery since launching in 2002 as a specialist insolvency practice, advising companies and individuals experiencing financial difficulty.
I conceived the idea for Cranfield whilst a partner in a Birmingham based big six accountancy firm where I was the lead West Midlands’ Corporate Recovery and Insolvency specialist. I felt that I could make a real difference to people’s lives by setting up a local firm offering corporate and personal insolvency advice and assistance to those living and working in the Coventry and Warwickshire area enabling them to obtain the high quality advice needed in times of financial distress.
Since setting up Patrick Murtagh and Brett Barton joined the company; both of whom are now directors. Brett also obtained his Insolvency Licence which has enabled us to operate with two qualified Insolvency Practitioners. We relocated from Warwick to Coventry in 2006.
We currently have a strong team of 12 staff. Some former employees have gone on to obtain Insolvency Licences and it gives me a huge sense of satisfaction knowing that some of the next generation of Insolvency Practitioners started their careers with Cranfield.
Typically, we work with accountants, solicitors, bankers and asset based lenders. These front line advisers are the first to spot when a business is starting to get into difficulties, and can call upon us to access a range of business reconstruction and insolvency procedures including Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs) , Administrations, Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations (CVL), and Members’ Voluntary Liquidations (MVLs) and we help companies to identify the best route for them.
Our aim is to be the top provider of insolvency solutions throughout Coventry and Warwickshire. There’s no doubt we’ve made a fantastic start, and in the last two years we have enjoyed rapid growth. Arguably, this has already led to us becoming the number one insolvency practice in Coventry. Our longer term aim is to extend our reach and achieve organic growth in surrounding areas such as Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Worcestershire.
Cranfield has developed a reputation for delivering high quality and unusual social and educational events which have become regular fixtures on the Coventry and Warwickshire business calendar.
Sport is a very popular theme at the moment with the World Cup and the 2012 Olympics, and we are doing our bit by sponsoring local athlete Katrina Wootton. Local businesses have had the opportunity to take part in the 2012 Olympics by providing their services, and this can only be a positive thing for the regional economy.
All of these factors and more have played a part in getting us to where we are today and provided solid foundations for future growth.
